Question
I'm still young, almost grade 9, but i want to get ahead. I know there's lot's of internships and stuff for other jobs like doctor, retail specialist and stuff like that but how do I get ready for interior designing/decorating. Plus I also want it to be my own buissnes when i get older.
Answer
You can start by doing some mood boards and concept boards. Mood boards are the colours and materials you would use in the room, for example what colour paint or wallpaper. Concept boards have pictures of the style, i.e style of sofa and furniture, lighting etc. Start by doing one for your own room, look through magazines for pictures and collect fabric samples,. look at these websites for some ideas http://www.homedesign4u.info http://www.housetohome.co.uk Start looking for courses in your area(sorry I don't know how old you are when you are in grade 9). There are some courses that you can do on-line or even start by doing evening classes. And obviously if you want to have your own business you will have to do a course in business studies, but that's something you can do at a later date.
